samarra indonesias cultural culinary heritage

Samarra (9)Our passion lies in the vast diversity and authenticity of the culinary map of the Indonesian archipelago, and one of the things that make us happiest is to be able to share those with our Tugu friends and patrons, to introduce them to people from all over the world. Thus we are proud to introduce all new menus for 2015 in Samarra.

The result of our extensive research over the years, visiting and collecting vendors from different villages as well as old home recipes passed from one generation to another. But fret not, if you already have loved our dishes before, we are still keeping those classic favourites in our menus.

Samarra Restaurant & Lounge at Jalan Kebon Sirih Raya, was influenced by the Iranian and Syrian style, with every corner features antiques and artworks and tell the hundreds of romantic tales, myths of the ancient city of Samarra during the times of Mesopotamia, Babylon, Syriana, and Persia.
Some of our new menus are : Udang Goreng Tigris (Prawn in Coconut Jackets with Tamarind Sauce), Salad Ikan Tuna Samarra (Confit Tuna, pumpkin and Gruyère cheese, crouton salad with crusted cashew nut dressing) and Iga Kambing Moko Gendrang (Indonesian stewed rack of lamb cooked in coconut milk).
