Hosted by the Ministry of Tourism at House of Tugu, the Wisdom in the Old Town: A Lunar Celebration event in Jakarta’s Kota Tua showcased fashion, culture, and heritage through an exclusive fashion show, exhibition, and high tea

Set against the historic backdrop of Kota Tua, Jakarta, Wisdom in the Old Town: A Lunar Celebration brought together fashion, culture, and heritage on February 17, 2025, at the House of Tugu. Organised by the Ministry of Tourism, the event highlighted ongoing efforts to revitalise Kota Tua as both a historic landmark and a dynamic cultural hub. It also marked the recent conclusion of Cap Go Meh.

The celebration was divided into two exclusive sessions. Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana welcomed government officials, dignitaries, and diplomats with an opening speech that fostered cultural exchange and appreciation. The second session, attended by Prestige VIPs and other influential figures, began with another speech from the minister, followed by a captivating fashion show. The show featured 12 designs by Sebastian Gunawan and 14 by Adrian Gan, while an exhibition showcased jewellery and accessories by Rinaldy Yunardi. Inspired by Chinese culture, each creation seamlessly blended tradition with the rich heritage of the Indonesian archipelago. The event concluded with a delightful Indonesian afternoon high tea at Jajaghu Restaurant, where guests savoured traditional snacks and delicacies.
