Hotel Tugu Bali’s cooking classes are presented by our Indonesian chef, Iboe Soelastri, who began her cooking journey as her grandmother’s sous chef when she was four years old.

The cooking class begins early in the morning with guests selecting the dishes to cook from Iboe Soelastri’s vast collection of Javanese and Balinese recipes. A visit to a traditional Balinese market follows, where all the freshest ingredients of the Indonesian archipelago, once known as the Spice Islands, are found. This market trip is a great firsthand experience on the Balinese way of life.
