This Shanghai Blue 1920 in Jalan Kebon Sirih Raya 79, Central Jakarta now houses a few of the pieces from the original Shanghai Tea House of the old harbor of Sunda Kelapa. It is the hope of Tugu Hotels Group to bring the atmosphere back to Jakarta – where it all started, and to keep alive the romantic memories of this warong as part of Batavia’s nostalgic beauty of the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Influenced by the Europeans who occupied Shanghai in 1920, the food in Shanghai Blue 1920 shares the best culinary combination from both sides.
In 2015 our kitchen team has created new menus like :Treasure Tofu from Beijing (Stuffed tofu with shiitake, shrimp, green peas, bamboo shoot, and water chesnut, topped with Szechuan dried shrimp and “kecombrang” sauce), Shanghai blue Treasure Duck (Marinated of whole roasted duck stuffed with smoked beef bacon, shiitake mushroom, lotus seed, salted egg, and served with stir fried green asparagus, baby corn, sweet green peas, baby pok choy, combined with wrapped beef sausage), and Kungpao Treasure Duck (Marinated of fillet roasted duck stuffed with smoked beef bacon, shiitake mushroom, lotus seed, and served with black vinegar sauce).
