To welcome the New Year of 2016, Hotel Tugu Malang features a performance of Reog Ponorogo, a collaboration with Malang Mask Dancers at The Sahara.
Reog is a traditional dance that became the main identity for Ponorogo Regency in East Java. Reog National Festival is held every year along with the anniversary of Ponorogo regency. Reog tells the story about the struggle of a prince who will propose to a beautiful princess.
In a surreally romantic, gigantic open-space area with a large stage, that appear to have existed only in the tales of the 1,001 Nights, the Sahara features a combination of masterpieces of arts and brilliant thoughts of the world’s great artists from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods.
Lit by 1001 torches, one can experience both the stunning history as well as the delicate New Year’s Eve Dinner from The Fisherman Night Market.
