New Year’s Eve Pirate Party
Piracy in the Strait of Malacca had been legendary in past centuries in the waters of the Indonesian archipelago. Their base was at the north part of the Malacca’s strait, which was the entrance into the Sriwijaya and Majapahit Kingdoms, who ruled Java, Bali and Lombok in that period. The invasion of the pirates into South East Asia happened in year 413- 414.
To commemorate the invasion, this New Year’s Eve we are commemorating this piece of history with a festive Indonesian Pirate’s Party. Dressing up in pirates costumes as well as Sriwijaya and Majapahit kingdom troops at the beautiful Gedong Gandrung antique building, enjoy a pirates’ themed feast of a wide array of fresh seafood and grills, just as you might a Royal guest. It takes all the guests back to a glorious time of exotic Indonesia, of feasting and merriment. Gear up to the count down with a full live band, magician, belly dance and bonfire by the sea, and party barefoot under the stars all the way till dawn.
